Ohio Invitational Fossick
June 21, 2008 at the beautiful Swank claim near Bellville, Ohio, the Ohio Buckeye GPAA Chapter will be holding our second Annual Ohio Invitational Fossick (that's Aussie for prospecting)
All GPAA members, friends, and guests are invited to join in this free common dig event. The 1st annual fossick drew a crowd in the hundreds, many from PA, MI, WV, IN, NY, and IL. If the weather is as good this year as it was last it should be just as great an event. We will be setting up our famous long-tom sluice as well as various dredges and highbankers. Gold nuggets and other prizes will be offered in the after-dig drawing and split.
Vendors will also be welcomed with no setup fees. Bring a covered dish for the potluck at noon and join us at the claim the first day of summer 2008. There is plenty of camping space avilable. No hookups but any size RV is welcome and for those who prefer a little more civilization, there is a nearby campground with hookups, shower, and laundry, and also many hotels in the area.
Of course, GPAA members and their guests are always free to self prospect if they prefer.
